Lead UI and UX

Ultimate Drift

The organizers of Ultimate Drift initially needed the competition judges to have an easy and quick way to vote and score the drivers.

Problem

Judges relied heavily on pen and paper, and even though there was an online voting option, they were uncomfortable using it. This was because they had to look at their phones while simultaneously keeping an eye on everything happening during the race.

Solution

We noticed that the judges used paper to make marks with a pen, allowing them to later count and subtract points from the driver. For this, they didn’t need to look exactly at where they were marking on the paper. Our idea was to replicate this experience in the app. Now, judges only need to tap on the phone screen whenever they want to deduct a point from a driver. We loved it—and so did the judges! :)
